5 Minute DIYs

Being short on time does not mean you have to neglect your DIY addiction. There are two reasons we were initially concerned we might experience symptoms of withdrawl:

1) Coming back to NYC after a few days in NC = Insanity.
2) Gwyneth and I have our Christmas card shoot on Saturday = Gym time is my #1 priority.

But thanks to Pinterest, we got our DIY fix this week with two quick projects for the bathroom:

Covered Light Switch Plate*
Glue drying time not included in 5 minutes

This is a pretty intuitive DIY, but we recommend this tutorial on The Real Housewives of Riverton if you want the step-by-step.

If you dont have leftover wallpaper scraps (or you havent ordered the free wallpaper samples from Anthropologie), you can use wrapping paper like we did. If you dont have Mod Podge, we used a regular old glue stick, and it turned out great.

Side note: Do order the wallpaper samples from Anthropologie. Gwyneth and I are so confident you can find a great use for them, that weve put the link here to make it easy for you.

Sephora Inspired Brush Holder:

We wont insult you with the instructions for this one!

We will point out; however, that this project really shortens the drying time after you clean your makeup brushes.

Final note: Are you are doing the same silly thing we did up until a few weeks ago and buying makeup brush cleaning solution? Well, we discovered that money is better applied to your home improvement budget water with a squirt of dish soap works just as well!

Back to Christmas card shoot preparation. Gywneth is getting her beauty sleep, and I am going to run intervals.

mk & Gwyneth

  1. Love the light switch cover! Amazing how much personality you can put into such a small space and at such low cost in money and time!

  3. Thanks, Mom! Wish we could have done more this week, but life and work got put ahead of DIY-ing this week :( Hopefully more to some soon. We need to figure out what to do with the dumpster dive bed frame!
