Show Us Your Beautiful Bookcases!

We want to see your beautiful bookcase arrangements!

If you didn’t see last week’s post on what we learned from Apartment Therapy’s Small Cool Contest, Gwyneth and I want to go through our apartment and do a little editing. We think our three bookcases is the best place to start. And since editing isn’t our strong suit, we’d love a little inspiration from your arrangements! So if you’ve got a beautiful bookcase (and we know you do), please post a link in the comment section below!

We’ve made some progress on our Expedit Room divider (you can see the before here), but we’ve got our work cut out for us on the other two!

On a completely separate note, we’ve brought a new item into the apartment. We know we said we were editing, but would you be able to pass up this dress form?
We didn’t think so. This dumpster dive was a big first. It was the first dumpster find that Gwyneth did not discover, and instead of coming from our dumpster, it came from the office. Oh yes, I did pull something out of the trash while at work and oh yes, I did carry it home 14 blocks.

The base needs a little repair, and this is only initial attempt at styling it, so if you’ve got suggestions for giving her a makeover, we’d love to hear those too!

    That is the best dumpster dive EVER. I’ve been looking for one to BUY! And they’re expensive! Lucky you!

    If I remember correctly your expedit was the reason I found this blog to begin with. I think it looks really good. I’m currently adding bookshelves so that it is not end to end crammed books.

    I could see pinning a scarf as a way to brighten up your new addition. I’ve always wondered how well jewelry would pin to one, using quilting or hat pins to attach necklaces and earring for storage.

    i love the bookcase as it is already! and i’ve got a similar mannequin that i use to hold anything from necklaces, a fur shawls, and hats…depends on the mood :-)

    Love the bookshelves…great job! And I am absolutely twirling over your dress form. Love that it is so clean…I tend NOT to like the vintage ones with the dirty brown water marks. Just a personal choice…some folks are fine with that. I think this was the find of the year for you!!!
