A Word From Gwyneth

Hello friends, Gwyneth here. I’m posting today because I need your help. You see, we had our first snowfall of the year up here in NYC yesterday…And well, my mom made me wear this:

So you understand my problem. I tried to explain that I come with built-in outerwear, but mom was busy taking pictures to post on our Instagram to hear me. As if the outfit wasn’t humiliating enough. And as if I didn’t really need to use the ladies’ room! Help me out, here. Do y’all do this to your four-legged family members too? If so, do you have any recommendations that are a little more dignified? I’m a personal style blogger, for goodness sake!

As a way to thank you for either your suggestions or for leaving a comment here telling my mom this has to stop, I pulled together a few Winter accessories just for you. Like my outfit, these Kate Spade finds are sure to get a few laughs on the street. Except unlike my outfit, people will be laughing with you, not at you. I know this because my mom bought one of these silly hats a few years ago, and it was a real crowd pleaser yesterday:

And I think this year’s collection is rather delightful too, don’t you?

If only there was something my size!

xoxo,

Gwyneth

PS: Did anything other than my outfit stand out to you in that first photo? I don’t want to give anything away, but I will say that we might have already broken a promise we made here

  1. OMG haha Gwyneth looks thrilled! I love the Kate Spade hat!

    • Meredith & Gwyneth says:

HA! She definitely wishes her outfit was as cute as the Kate Spade finds! We’ve got to work on that soon!

      xoxo,
      mk & G

  2. Ummmm, I think Gwyneth needs to come stay with me for the winter!!! I just posted some people shaming, calling my cousin out for humiliating her beloved puppy for every. single. holiday!!

    • Meredith & Gwyneth says:

Careful what you wish for – Gwyneth is ready to book her ticket and Dumpster Dive with you all Winter long!
      Much love, Karah!

      xoxo,
      mk & G

  3. Oh Gwyneth sweet baby, I wouldn’t be dumpster diving for her until she finds you something more chic!

  4. Gwyneth does not look happy in this outfit and isn’t that the whole point! If you don’t feel outrageously gorgeous in what you’re wearing — take it off. BTW, Priss, my Silky (Terrorist) Terrier, thinks Gwyneth’s fur coat is to die for.

  5. Gwyneth– talk mom into adding a few gold pyramid studs to that jacket – like her trench –and get some new shoes…. http://puprwear.com/item_3694/Gold-Leopard-Print-Fashion-Dog-Boots.htm
And yes, you should flat out refuse any new dumpster finds until this situation is remedied!
ps– if you want to go high end, Burberry makes the chicest dog coats….might be able to find one on ebay.

  6. My precious (Shorkie – half Shi-zuh, half Yorkie) named Scooter…told me to share with you that the Gwyneth’s jacket is verrrry verrry chic…however he recommends to ditch the boots..as
he found them totally embarassing and inadequate to walk with a cool stride!! :) He’s just saying!! :)
Love what you created with the baskets!!!
    Excellent!!

  7. We’ve been exploring dog winter-wear options as our Widget pup is quite the princess when it comes to cold and wet weather. Check out Tiennot Knits (https://www.facebook.com/TiennotKnits?fref=ts) – they custom make doggy cute doggy sweaters…very reasonable prices and they donate a percentage of profits to doggy rescue programs. I’m sure they could whip Gwenneth something up in pink :) Sirius Republic (www.siriusrepublic.com) and Snug-a-bull (on Etsy) make very warm custom doggy snoods…Sirius republic also makes adorable custom collars. Widget’s is pink with a flower and black polka-dots!

    • Meredith & Gwyneth says:

Hannah, I can’t thank you enough for these suggestions! Please tell Widget she is not alone in disliking the cold & wet weather!
I will be browsing online and adding to my Christmas list tonight!
      Kisses to Widget!

      xoxo,
      Gwyneth

  8. Oh Gwyneth, I feel for you. Really and truly. Maybe Meredith needs to pull out the sewing machine and craft some winter wear for you that is befitting your style and grace. Seriously, those little elf boots are just too costumey. And Ernie wants to send along his condolences. He is a manly sort of dog (well, not really, he’s a big crybaby) but I’m pretty sure he would fight, bite, and growl ferociously if I even tried to put a booty on his paw …

    :)

    Linda

    • Meredith & Gwyneth says:

Linda, I knew you and Ernie would be on my side of this one! My Mom can’t sew, but I bet I can convince my grandma to whip out the sewing machine over Thanksgiving. I’m on it!
Lots of love to you and Ernie!

      xoxo,
      Gwynnie

  9. Oh Gwyneth, I am SO sorry for you! My Ella and Gracie would never go for this get-up at all! Please tell your mom she needs to see the error of her ways and remove it immediately, ha!

    • Meredith & Gwyneth says:

Thank you, Sherry. I’m so glad y’all agree with me that this Winter look is unacceptable!
Big wet kisses to Ella and Gracie!

      xoxo,
      Gwyneth
