Swan Lake Meets Land’s End

If the last time you wore a tutu was your first grade dance recital, we’d encourage you to change that. Turns out they’re pretty versatile. Last week, our girl Bethany from B Soup shared how to dress one up, and today we’ve got you covered with a casual look. Although we didn’t plan for it to come together this way, we’re loving our Swan-Lake-meets-Land’s-End ensemble.

Back in North Carolina, flurries meant office closures and wearing jammies all day long. Things are a little different in NYC. Since neither Hurricane Sandy nor the Nor’easter could stop New York from running, Gwyneth and I decided a little snow on the ground shouldn’t stop us from wearing the tutu we’d set out for a lunch meeting last week. We exchanged a silk blouse for a plaid button down with a sweater and swapped 4″ heels for argyle socks with snow boots. Why not, right?

  1. Too cute! Nice job putting all that together.

I must confess to you that, after seeing your J Crew pave bracelet, I had to have one for myself. It came last Friday and I am crazy for it!!! Hope the stones all stay in it and don’t fall out.! If you keep recommending things to me that I can’t resist you are going to have to chip in!!! I will be penniless before long! Thank you, Meredity!

    • Meredith & Gwyneth says:

Thank you, Vickie! You are going to LOVE your bracelet! Great investment, in our opinion! There’s nothing we wear more often than ours, as you know! I’ve worn mine practically every day for over a year, and none of the stones have fallen out, so you should be good! Enjoy your new bling!

  2. You look amazing!!! I love the neon and navy combo!!

  3. Matilda Joyce says:

    So clever! Love the contrast!
I bought a pair of jeans (green) on sale today with the intention of dying them black. I figured if you can do it, so can I! ($15 at Talbots, thank-you-very-much!)
If it works out, I figured I can just buy only white clothes and dye everything to my desired color. (Kidding. Sort of)

    • Meredith & Gwyneth says:

Thanks, Matilda! What a deal on those jeans! We can’t wait to hear how they turn out – although we know they’ll be great!
We found two more pair of white jeans in the back of the closet that have seen better days. They’re going to get a dye job one of these days too! So we totally agree on your plan to customize anything and anything that needs a makeover!

      xoxo,
      mk & Gwynnie
