18 years ago, this week, my 9th grade Algebra teacher passed out a homework syllabus that made me squeal with delight. I was still bouncing up and down in my chair when he informed me and the rest of our class that the “MLK Day / No Homework,” was referring to our school’s observance of Martin Luther King Day, not Meredith Leigh Krull’s 15th birthday.
With an additional 18 years of maturity, I have come to accept that my birthday is not a national holiday, but I will absolutely let you throw a parade in my honor should you choose to celebrate January 22nd that way. And I will most certainly make you a list to shop from. For that matter, I will be happy to print it out for you, set it as your screensaver, and yes, I gift wrap. So with that less-than-subtle dropping of hints, here is the list of all lists. I didn’t intend to select such extravagant things; it just worked out that way.

Happy almost birthday my friend! And I just adore that quote … as well as your picks!
Linda
Happy early birthday! I love the quote; it’s genius.

I notice a trend toward the ironic in your picks… numbers 3, 4 & 8, for example. And then there’s #1… because while that is a shirt of sorts, and wearing it would make you warm and lead you to sweat, to call it a sweatshirt is the height of irony! It’s beautiful, though, as is everything you’ve picked out!
Happy early birthday!
mlk may be my favorite holiday because it fell on or around my birthday a lot too.
I hope you’re planning a three day celebration! Happy Birthday in advance!
