#Accessorizing, #baubles #sparkle, #DIY, #fashion, #style….they’re all trending, and we’ve got an easy way for you to play along today! Here’s a tutorial to create your very own pair of DIY Rhinestone/Friendship Bracelet Earrings!
You need:
- Three skeins of embroidery floss
- 2 hoop earrings
- Rhinestone trim
- Baby scissors
- Pliers
- Tape
- Fray check
First, cut two pieces of rhinestone trim, so each is long enough to wrap around the perimeter of your hoop. Then cut four 1′ pieces of each color embroidery floss. You’ll have 12 1′ pieces total. Divide your pieces of embroidery into 2 piles – each pile should have 2 1′ sections of each color you are using. Tie a knot at the top of each pile and braid.
Then place your rhinestone trim on top of your hoop and secure by using your braid to tie a knot between the first and second rhinestones. Note: you want to start this on the end of your hoop where the back closure is.
Wrap your braid around the trim and hoop earring, between each of the rhinestones.
Continue wrapping the full length of the rhinestone trim.
When you get to the end of the rhinestone trim (at the front end of your hoop), wrap your braid in the opposite direction and begin wrapping the braid the full length of your earring until you are at the back side again.
Secure with a knot and cut off the excess.
Apply a dab of Fray Check at the end to secure.
Then go shop your closet to put together an outfit you’ll love as much as your new earrings!

Adorbs! Where did you get the rhinestone trim? How is it sold?
Hi Matilda! The trim came from M&J Trimming. You can order online, but if you want to see it in person before buying I’d suggest a local bead store. It’s sold by the yard at M&J Trimming – so you’d have lots leftover for future jewelry DIYs!

Oh wow – I love this idea! I’m pinning it for our next jewelry making day. My friends and I get together once a month for a craft day (recently it has been making wrapped bracelets) and this can be our new inspiration. Thanks!
It made our morning to see that this will be part of your jewelry making day inspiration! Have so much fun with your girlfriends!
