There’s so much that we’re enjoying about our new Nob Hill apartment that it’s hard to play favorites, but our sunny bedroom is currently topping the list of things we love about our new home. Like our initial work in the living room, entryway and kitchen, this space is very much a work in progress, but we couldn’t wait any longer to share it with you!
Like we did in our last bedroom, we’re using our Dumpster Dive Chest of Drawers as a nightstand. But what we missed in our last space was room for another piece of furniture on the other side of the bed. With room for two nightstands, we’re making us of our Dumpster Dive Dresser here too.
Another part we’re loving about this room – the light that pours in from the window. And as an added bonus, Gwyneth has found hours of entertainment supervising the pedestrians outside.
Our ceilings are higher than those from our NYC and last San Francisco apartments, so we had to find new window treatments for this space. We picked up an pair of basic white 108″ panels from Bed Bath and Beyond and used Fabri-Tac to adhere taupe pom-pom trim from Britex Fabrics to the edges for a quick and easy custom touch. (If you’re ever in San Francisco, be sure to stop by this gem of a store for creative-inspiration galore!) Since we have a radiator right below the window, we picked up these Door Knob Curtain Tie Backs from Urban Outfitters to add a little extra charm while and keep our new curtains from catching fire.
Another perk of this space is that we have room again for our Dumpster Dive Bench at the end of the bed. Gwyneth has yet another place to lounge, and I’m enjoying using the baskets below for storing socks and tights.
The storage couldn’t be more perfectly placed, because just opposite the bench we have one of the best parts of the bedroom – our shoe closet!!
It’s nice to have a place to sit while picking out my shoes each morning – that process can definitely take a while!
That’s all for now! If you’re following us on Instagram, then you saw we’ve also got a dine-in library in progress. We’re hoping to make a little more headway on it this week and share it with you soon! In the meantime, Gwyneth will be catching up on her beauty sleep in our new SF bedroom!
