Splurge on the timeless, save on the trends – it’s every smart shopper’s first commandment. So when Gwyneth and I were making our Fall Must-Haves shopping list this weekend, we knew we’d have to do a little research to find one of the pieces on our wishlist – denim overalls, ready to dress up.
We’ve been lusting after this pair from Current Elliott for a while, but since overalls are everyday basics for farmers more than they are for than fashionistas, we headed online to see what we could dig up. When we discovered Free People has a similar style that’s better for the bank account, we were inspired to find budget-friendly alternatives for the rest of the outfit. The overalls have the “let’s-make-a-statement-today” part of the outfit covered, so we searched for black and white basics and a few small color pop accessories to complete the look. In total, our alternatives save $1343, making an impact on the closet without crushing the checkbook.
